Flic Utilities
==============
No.......NOT some 'agreement'-message on how you can/can't distribute
these files and that you can't force people to pay for these little
(read: LITTLE) utilities, because I don't really care (unless some lamer
uses PC Tools in order to change the names in the .EXE files, because
that pisses me off).
Anyway, the two (actually three, counting this) files in this .ZIP were made
to please ME, not other people, but since they work (kinda), it would be nice
of me if I made them public, so I'm doing that right now.
I started writing these utilities because when I got FLISPEED.EXE ( from
David Mason, who makes DTA, a GREAT program ), I was disappointed that it
could only change the speed of .FLI's, NOT .FLC's (well, it changes the speed
of .FLC's, but the wrong way, so it doesn't really work).
So.....the file FS.EXE autodetects .FLI/.FLC/.FLX/.FLT-files and changes
the speed-information stored in the header of the animation-file.
It's really easy to use, just type :
FS <filename.ext> [ENTER]
and it'll ask for the speed you wish.
The other program, FI.EXE, is just as small, and the only thing it does is
display some nice information about the given FLIC-file.
The information currently displayed is:
the FLIC-type
the speed-setting
the number of frames
the height
the width
the number of bits per pixel
It's not that much, I know, but I'm working on some (little, though)
extensions, such as the total size of the FLIC ( that information is also
stored in the header ).
You use it just like FS.EXE :
FI.EXE <filename.ext> [ENTER}
Ok......that's all for now.........if you want updates (if I'm going to
MAKE them is a whole different story ) or you HATE/LOVE it,
try to contact me at :
robertk@stack.urc.tue.nl
and I'll answer as soon as possible (probably within one day).
Robert
[the end, luckily]
(Oh yeah........these little things were programmed in TP, and if you REALLY
want the sources, contact me as well.....but I gotta warn you...they are
really badly programmed in terms of efficiency, but who cares....I don't )
